The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Knightstown was built and opened in 1914. It is Gothic in style, was subscribed to by the people who worked at the Cable Station and the local people. It has a famous stained glass window in the Sanctuary, built in the Early Studios in Dublin 1916/17. The window was donated by the Galvin Family of the Royal Hotel, Knightstown. The organ came from an opera house in Piccadilly, London. The Sanctuary was refurbished in the 1960’s to comply with the Vatican II requirements.
